Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions about your background, current concerns, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. It’s also your chance to ask questions and see if working together feels like a good fit.

How long is each therapy session?

Individual therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes. In some cases, extended sessions (75–90 minutes) are available, as well as having multiple sessions per week. For couples, I prefer to have 90 minute sessions.

Do you offer virtual or in-person appointments?

Currently, I offer telehealth sessions (online therapy) for clients located in Hawaii. In addition to virtual sessions, I offer the option to meet in person in natural outdoor settings throughout Honolulu, Hawai‘i. If it's agreed that it would support the therapy process, home visits or on-island location visits can also be arranged. These can offer valuable context, deepen awareness, and ultimately accelerate the therapy process.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider for details on your out-of-network benefits.

What is the cost of therapy?

My standard rate is $250 per 50 minute session, but I’m open to discussing options that work within your budget. For couples my standard rate is $325 per 90 minute session.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of half the session cost.
